DIY Fashion

Top: thrifted
Skirt: DIY
flats and bag: Parisian
accessories: S&M

I'm gonna save you a lot of time by skipping the whole sorry-for-the-hiatus introduction here, and just greet you a very Merry (advanced) Christmas! I hope you are all in high spirits as I am, and just savor the last few days of the years with the people we love the most. =)

Anyways, I just wanna share this outfit I wore to a debut of a school friend. I really like this outfit so I decided to post it here even if the photos are not that blog-worthy. haha. I just wanna share the fact that I made the skirt I'm wearing here (hence the title) , hand-sewn and all, and so I think it deserve a little attention. haha. I already wore this when Bjorn came here in Iloilo, but I haven't got a decent photo of that outfit, so I'm glad this time I have at least something to show to you.

Lots has been going on in my life these past few days, and I wanna share them all to you, one by one that is, so I hope you watch out for it. That's it for now, cause it's already 2:30 in the morning and I have a 7am class later, and I badly need sleep. good night everyone! =)

Iloilo Designer's Week 2013 (DAY1): MY PICKS

Hello again guys! Okay, I have some explaining to do, but if you're not interested in it you can skip this part. hihi. =) Anyways, last month, it was announced that the second Iloilo Designers Week was already scheduled and that they were receiving applications for bloggers who would be featuring the event in their blogs. Being the naive and too excited blogger that I am, I immediately applied and luckily got accepted. I was already looking for my outfits and stuff, talking to other fellow bloggers about our plans and other related blogging topics, thinking that I had pretty much enough time for all the preparation. I was really expecting that the event would be on September or later since that was the time the 1st IDW was held. It was only a week before the event that I realized that the show was also the same date as that of our school's educational trip. I was so devastated, I even tried to arrange my flight for the field trip to be later than the original one scheduled so that I can at least see one show, but to no avail. =(

So long story short, I wasn't able to attend the event. But that wouldn't stop me from blogging one of the most anticipated fashion event in Iloilo City. With the help of facebook updates and other bloggers' posts, here are my picks from the collections of the different designers during the first day of the show:

Just like last year, Bo's collection were in the grey color scheme, with different touches of pattern here and there. What I loved about his collection is that it's not all about flowy skirts or loose pants, he now mixed it with clean lines and structured looks, which made the whole look contrasting yet very much interesting. I can also see that he's really into little details, like that asymmetrical sleeves and the pointed front flaps of the jacket.

I can say that this is one of my favorite collections. Who would have thought that Hablon could be transformed into this dainty and very youthful pieces? I always thought that Jaki's designs are a little more on the mature side, but this collection proved me wrong.

THIS! I have no words. The details, the length, the shape, and even the color (which was not always my favorite, anyway). Just the perfect mixture. <3 oh, and this would really be perfect for this year's school prom theme "Garden of Eden".

This collection is just so dreamy. I feel like I'm in another awesome universe just by looking at the photos (what more if I was on the show itself?). His clothes are too awesome and delicate-looking they deserve to be preserved (rhyming!) in a museum and to be shown in the future generations. =))

I literally gasped when I saw photos of this collection, I've long been waiting to see a collection as world-class as this. And I can't believe I missed the chance to see these pieces personally. I love the cleanness of the lines, the simplicity of the silhouette and the elegance of the whole look. I also love that the hairdo is really simple, puts more attention to the dresses, which they really deserve. Ahh, those corsets! How I wish someone would teach me how to make them, they are just so sexy without all the effort. All these pieces deserve to be featured in a magazine.

That's all for the 1st day of Iloilo Designer's Week '13, I'll be posting my picks from the 2nd day's collection by Sunday, so be tuned. =))

So much has happened this past week I find it hard how to narrate it to you. Too many photos to sort out first, and not to mention upload with a very slow internet connection made slower by the unexpected rain. So for a while let me show you these photos gathered from different Instagram profiles so I can somehow say I've "shared" to you these awesome memories.

As I've mentioned in my last post, Bjorn had included Iloilo in one of his projects called Kalsada Ph. Luckily, I got the opportunity to tour him around the city. It was so much fun seeing him do his thing as well as meeting new people and gaining new friends.

I will try to post more details about it this week, as soon as I get the chance. =)

Iloilo Designers Week 2 and More

One of the reasons I love Iloilo, besides the wide choice of food to eat, is the fashion scene. Fashion shows are everywhere, new designers pop up endlessly, and this is the place the pushed me to pursue my love for fashion. This year, this month particularly, makes me really excited because many events are lined up to keep the fire for fashion burning.

Here are some of the events I really look forward to going:

Last year, I had the chance to attend the first ever Iloilo Designers Week. This year, I was luckily accepted again as one of the bloggers to be participating. Here is the line up of the shows:

Also, one of my favorite photographers Bjorn Bedayo will luckily include Iloilo city to one of his upcoming projects, yehey!

and lastly, our school's org is organizing a fashion show for a cause called Biste.

I will talk more about these events on my next post, hopefully real soon, cause I am now in a hurry to go to a meet up with my fellow bloggers Em and Dawn, who are now having a stall on Plazuela de Iloilo's Bazaar. Hopefully you'll all be able to visit it.=))

Rooftop Blues

Ugh. I hate Philippine weather. One day it's raining so hard with gusting wind the next day it's so sweltering hot. So unpredictable. =/

Anyways, as per usual, school has been eating up lots of my time these past few weeks, lots of interbatch/intercollege competitions, and with modeling as highlights, which is where as expected I was assigned, and not to mention exams, loads of them. Late nights at school and at Starbucks, skipping meals, and lack of sleep, all of them had added up and had me ending up with terrible migraines and colds and high fevers. Sometimes I just wanna give up and just go back home to our province and enjoy a stress-free life, but if I do that, all of my hard work, and not to mention my parents', will all just go to waste, and I don't never want that to happen.

Okay, so enough of the drama. Let's replace that instead with dramatic pictures. haha, kidding. I just wanna show you guys my current favorite item of clothing, a sweater, a very comfortable one, that I got from a thrift shop for a very low price. =) I just love it, perfect for rainy weathers. (I just wanna mention too that these pictures were taken way before all the hectic activities at school, thus the smiling and not-so-stressful looking face  haha)

Oh, Did I mention that just turned 21y.o.  last July 25? Start of a new decade of my life. I just hope it will be a fruitful one. =)

In a Hurry

Second month of school year has barely started, but I feel like a year's worth of school works had been dumped on me in just this short span of time. Daily org meetings, case studies, assignments, readings, and events organizing is what composes a normal day for me. Sometimes I just wanna hit the pause button and take a really deep breath before I plunge again to this deep pool called college. But don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, though my body does already. I know I wanted this. I wanted to experience a real college life before I graduate, so I'm trying to get as much as possible. Good thing I have a very awesome group of friends who I get to experience this with. Their company (and not to mention their no-nonsense humor) has made this less hard, if not easier, and made it look like a breeze. I'm just very thankful I had met them.

I haven't taken real photos recently, (and the few ones that I have, I haven't uploaded yet :)), so here are just some instagram and fb photos I had to show you bits and pieces of my life as of the moment.

Studying an hour before a quiz (which felt like an exam)

A treat of baked oyster by our friend who won a national contest #proudfriendhere

a little walk after the dinner and proceeded to have milk tea

Had lunch together after first day of school orientation

Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants Freshmen Orientation

Selfies while manning the org's booth during enrollment week

Some OOTDs:

And now I'm off to cross some items off my to do lists.
